Free Bid Health Check
Bring one RFP or tender. In 20 minutes you get an honest first read on whether it is worth bidding, what could sink it, and what to do next. Free, confidential, no obligation.
What it is
A free, 20-minute call about one bid. You bring an RFP or tender. We give you an honest first read on whether it is worth your team's time.
Twenty minutes is enough to spot a clear no-bid: a requirement you cannot meet, a bid written around someone else, or a deadline your team cannot deliver. It is also enough to spot a clear go. For the bids in between, it shows you what the numbers need to answer.
It is the quickest way to get a second opinion before you spend weeks on a response.
What you leave with
- A first read. A clear no, a clear go, or "this one needs the numbers".
- The risks. What could sink the proposal, so you know before you start.
- Your smartest next move. Bid, bid with conditions, or no-bid, and what to do first.
Who it is for
Owner-led companies in any industry that bid on government work in Canada and the US, or are about to.
It is most useful when you are not sure whether to bid, or you have a deadline coming and want a second set of eyes first.
If you want to understand the thinking first, read the bid/no-bid guide and the bid pricing guide.
What it is not
- Not a sales pitch. If a bid should not be pursued, we will say so.
- Not a final verdict. Whether a bid that looks fine is actually worth it depends on your real costs, your chances and your price, and that takes more than 20 minutes.
- Not a proposal review or a full pricing exercise. For that, see the Bid Economics Assessment.
- Not a guarantee of a win, which no one can honestly give.
Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. It is 20 minutes, there is no obligation, and you do not need to hire us afterwards.
What should I bring?
One RFP or tender you are weighing, or one you have already started. If you can share the document ahead of the call, great. If not, the link and a few notes are enough.
Is it confidential?
Yes. What you share stays with us, and we take one client per opportunity.
What if the answer is "don't bid"?
Then you will hear that, with the reasons. A bid you skip is time and money kept for one that pays.
Can you really decide in 20 minutes?
You can often rule a bid out, or confirm it is worth a closer look. You cannot confirm that a bid pays without the numbers, so if it is close we will tell you that and what it would take to decide.
Can you tell me whether I will win?
No one can promise that. We can tell you whether the bid looks worth pursuing, what could hurt it, and what to do next. The buyer makes the final decision.
What happens after the call?
Nothing, unless you want it to. If it makes sense to go further, we can quote a fixed fee for a Bid Economics Assessment or other help. If it does not, you keep the answer.
Not sure whether to bid?
Pick a time. Bring one RFP or tender and we will tell you plainly.
